Make-A-Wish: we got out of the way…

The young Make-A-Wish Foundation of Pittsburgh asked us to write its first fundraising print piece.

Make-A-Wish fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, so the piece needed to have emotional content, but without “using” the terrific kids and families served by the organization.

We simply got out of the way and let the “wish kids” speak for themselves, selecting one child’s heartfelt thank-you note to introduce the piece. A clear, concise Q-and-A format communicated the rest of the necessary information – but, to be honest, it was young Eric’s painstakingly printed note that convinced people to open their hearts (and their wallets) to this great cause.

The piece was used with success for many years. To see two pages of a PDF (130 KB PDF), click here.
